  • There are always jobs in aged care if that is something you would like to do.

  • I did an Accounting and Business Law degree and worked in that field up until having children seven years ago. Two years I looked about doing my Teaching degree but I had to be on campus which did not fit in with our current location so I took a job in Record Management which I love. I think I would not have looked into this as a career if we lived in the city . I believe I was in the right place at the right time and took a chance on something that out of my comfort zone. :)

  • Sure have. A few times. I went from Admin to Sales to Sales Management.
Since moving States, I have had to reinvent myself to get work. I now do B2B TeleSales so I can work from home. I charge my clients by the hour + commission. I can now work my own hours.

  • Not really but I wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

  • I would love to make a career change but am not sure about the financial implications therefore I work across two industries – I have an administrative full time role and I am a fitness and swim instructor. I get the best of both worlds.

  • Yes, I went from corporate to vet nursing in 2008 after being offered a position as a vet nurse
Then 2014. I decided I wanted to be a swim teacher.
I applied for two jobs, got one and then started training

  • Thanks for the detailed and interesting answer NadineHill – very helpful. :)

  • I studied Business Administration and Accounting and, up until 7 years ago, had always worked in that area. Having always been interested in technology, when the opportunity came up to move into IT Administration, I jumped at the chance! The hours are longer and the work can be stressful, but I am no longer stagnating in a humdrum, boring job and it’s totally given me a new lease on life! When considering a career change, the hardest decision is deciding what you really want to do .. after that choice is made you can devote time and energy into researching the various roles within that line of work and building up knowledge to secure your dream job – there are plenty of courses, long and short, that will help you along that track! Good luck!
