  • See your dr and get a referral for a specialist. While it can happen big clumps are a real problem and can have an effect on your self esteem.

  • Yep!! It’s partly why I clippered mine short after my second was born. When you’re pregnant, a side effect of the hormones is that your hair stops falling out at the usual rate (~100 hairs/day). When you’re no longer pregnant and all those hormones are gone from your body at around the 4 month mark, 10 months worth of hair falls out en masse! With my first it lasted almost 6 months, with my second nearly 8 :/ I always wore it up, and brushed the hell out of it while I was in the shower, which helped how much was to be found around the house!

  • I had this problem – my hairdresser said its quite common due to all the hormones in the body and if you like me you grow little baby hairs everywhere. It started to calm down after around 6 months.

  • when you are pregnant, your body has more hormones that retain hair and once you have had the baby, the hormone reduces and you shed the hair. some ladies might see a snail trail also due to this affect

  • I started loosing my hair when my Bub was about 4 months and I am still losing it and she is 14 months, it is getting less and less each day though

  • Yes its very normal around the 3 month mark and usually settles down by the 6th month or so.

  • Yes – but it does grow back.

  • it could be stress or something

  • Seems like most on here have had the same experience.

  • Yep, and it all settled down again but it seemed to take ages.

  • It might be stress ;’

  • Hope your hair is growing back now

  • Yes I did for a little while – just put it down to stress.

  • It is a big shock to your whole system having a baby and it throws your hormones all over the place. Try massaging your scalp to help stimulate hair regrowth.

  • I hope you found the answers that you needed
