I purchased some cosmetics recently from Korea and received a few extra samples/items of products containing things like snail mucus and bee venom. I’ve done some research and these types of products seem to have great reviews. Have you tried anything and what are your thoughts? I’m not sure I am ready to take the step but would love to hear what people say.

  • I know beeswax is great for dry skin , they are found in Burts Bees products too .

  • Great to hear your dermatologist is so honest. Mine said he loved the way my fingernails were decorated and said I looked very young for my age. He asked me my secret of looking so young and I SAID I never let my skin dry out and never expose my face and neck to the sun and I am also very active He said not exposing your face to the sun would help a lot.

  • My dermatologist said all these products are a load of shit. He says QV or DermaVeen are way better, and brilliant for your skin

  • Ah No! sounds interesting, but I’m allergic to bees… so I’ll pass.

  • No i haven’t and i have never heard of using these types of products

  • The snail mucus doesn’t sound nice at all!

  • I don’t think I would be using them. You should research all the negatives plus the positives and go from there..

  • As they are imported goods; I would also check on the rules and regulation and controls in relation to imported cosmetics. Find out what is a safe product to use and what it actually does contain.

  • I would be very careful about using these products. Bee venom causes swelling because it is a toxin; which is ultimately not good. I would research the negatives too. Also; look at the reviews and their origin.

  • Ew – no thanks, not for me. I have large snail like slugs that get in under my sliding door and leave their “mucous” all over the carpet and that’s enough to put me off for life!

  • Sounds a bit gross to be honest lol

  • I have an issue with some of the ingredients used in cosmetics, remember your skin is the largest organ in your body and anything you put on it goes into the blood stream, some things may be fine but how do you know if it was contaminated before being used, I think there are enough products that are natural and not risky without taking risks with unproven things, especially when coming from a country that may not have the quality control that Australia, USA, UK etc have,

  • It’s purely visceral, but I don’t like the idea of snail mucus!

  • No I’ve never heard of those. Is the bee venom anything like Royal Jelly I wonder. That’s good for you.
