Hello!

Hi mums I’m after an effective headlice treatment or remedy. We have tried everything, its got to the point of shaving my 11yr old daughters head never in my life have I had so much trouble with headlice. I generally spend between 15-30 a week or every two weeks to treat the problem, there is five of us to treat and then I strip the whole house down wash everything its all good and then she gets them again is there anything you can do to prevent them as we have recently been told by the school that there are some kids who refuse to have their hair treated, some parents said they cant afford it and one parent replied with I don’t care so I’m open to suggestions ill try just about anything. thanks. Do you know any good headlice treatments?

  • Thursday Plantations head lice treatment kit! Then use the small tea tree oil spray bottle daily to keep them at bay!

  • I didn’t have to treat head lice, but I’ve heard that hair conditioner left in the hair works. I’m not sure how long you’re supposed to leave it in.

  • Good luck honey!

  • I’ve just tried the euky bear treatments and they seem to work quite well.

  • most of them are pretty good, make sure your child has her hair tied back and not hanging freely all of the time

  • someone at the school must have headlice. check with them 1st

  • Does her school know about your problem? It may be that she keeps picking them up from someone else at school. I actually had a girl friend when I was at school who had to have her head shaved to get rid of nits. The whole school knew about it.

  • All I ever do is the chemist headline rince.

  • There are tea tree based sprays you can put in her hair to try and prevent them.

  • good luck. they are horrible and unless everyone in the class is treating their hair unfortunately you may have this problem for a while.

  • Hope you’ve managed to get rid of them! We had a problem with head lice when I was young. The only way we managed to get rid of them was combing thoroughly every morning and night, and putting lots of conditioner in the hair and combing it out in the shower. We tried head lice shampoo but it didn’t work.

  • Only the headlice shampoos n comb

  • Try headlice shampoos available to pharmacies

  • My Nan used to get a spray bottle dilute metho with water and spray my hair and put it up after ½ hour full on head itching as they ran around dying in 1hour I went for shower washed my hair and no lice then she’d use conditioner an lice comb to get rid off eggs and every morning I went to school she would spray tea tree or eucalyptus spray in my hair to prevent them coming back, good luck;)
