Hello!

I need some healthy meal ideas that hide vegetables. My daughters refuse to eat anything “healthy” and im struggling for meal ideas that hide vegetables and they will eat.

  • What does your daughter like to eat? You can make healthier versions of most meals. So if she likes hamburgers make those but add grated vegies in with the mince. You can add grated vegies to most things ;) but if all else fails my kids will always drink a home made fruit juice ( which I add lots of spinach or spirulina to) just add banana and apple or pear to make it sweet or a smoothie which I add yoghurt, fruit, flaxseed etc.

  • definitely bolognese, tacos, scrambled eggs with grated zucchini or carrot in it. low sugar pumpkin and zucchini muffins are yum

  • Make pasta sauces and you can hide the veggies by whizzing them and putting them in the sauce

  • anything with mince is great because you can grate carrot and zucchini into it and they won’t know it’s there. Spag bol, lasagne, patties, pasta bake. You could even try hiding veggies in pies too or shepherd’s pie.

  • I find some good recipe ideas on Pintrest! Just look up healthy meals for kids. I also find, using a slow cooker will work well hiding the vegies as they will soak up all of the sauce and flavours!

  • Lasagne, spaghetti and pies are great to hide veggies. Although Mexican is a great way to get kids excited for veggies. Or you can slip them into a cheesy quesadilla.

  • I have found you can add grated carrot and zucchini to almost any meal. Mushrooms too if you chop them up small enough.
Pasta bakes, spaghetti bolognese, lasagne, satay chicken, curried sausages, cottage pie, chicken and leek pie, risotto, lamb ragu, pulled beef ragu, stir-fry.
All meals that my 2 year old happily eats.

  • I make lasagna with small diced carrots and zucchini my kids can barely see or zucchini slices or muffins are great to make and hide veggies in

  • Grated vegetables can be added to most meals and children and adults will gobble up the food.

  • You could grate zucchini, carrots or beetroots and mix them with minced meat when you make meatballs.

  • I make quinoa cakes (patties) to use on burgers and they’re loaded with Vegetables and if having normal burgers, I add grated carrot and zucchini to those patties as most kids eat and like burgers

  • Vegetables can be hidden in savoury slices, savoury muffins, quiches, pasta bakes and in sweet and savoury baking.

  • Soup where you blend it all up together

  • There are so many ways to hide veggies. A good old spaghetti bolgnese or lasagne hides a multitude of veggies. Muffins are great and even some cakes have veggies in
