Hello!

Hi there, a quick question for your mums! I have a 14 month old who fancies herself an acrobat! She flings herself head first onto chairs, off chairs onto the floor, climbs etc. does anyone have any advice how to deal with this before she takes us to the emergency room!

  • Sounds like she keeps you on your toes lol. Have you considered toddler acrobatics class? If she learns how to do it properly, and if they teach her age appropriate tricks, she might focus on that and forget the dangerous stuff for a while

  • My daughter was exactly the same and still is a wriggly little worm that sqeazes thru anything she can fit thru, out of, into,on,off, ectera.. And she is 3 1/2!!

  • Keep her safe, but give her freedom… Trust your instincts, not the opinion of strangers…. My son was a climber, head banger, and my Doc said if he didn’t know me and my family so well he would think I was abusing him, as he always had bruises on his legs.. He was adventurous. He is 23 now, and sane, and still adventurous!!!

  • Some kids have no fear. This creates more injuries.

  • my youngest is starting to do this. some kids just have no fear lol

  • Wow, what a daredevil. How are you going with it?

  • Crikey, I hope she grew out of this ? Just what did you do to help?

  • Give her an outlet to use her acrobat skills safely!

  • depending on how big she is you could try a jump-o-lene to try to get the energy out?

  • how did you go with it?

  • Hope you managed to find the answer you were looking for.

  • Has she stopped it yet?

  • Kids will be kids just do your best to be there when they do fall

  • All you can do as a parent is to show the child how to behave safely. Hopefully they will take notice.

  • My daughter used to climb up on everything and we just made a decision to show her the safe way to get up and to get down as it was physically impossible to stop her.
