  • We all want a baby who sleeps through the night but more often than not it just takes time!

  • How does she sleep at night ??

  • the rule at that age is they should be down for as long as they’re up. Try and lengthen the nap times. There are lot of blogs online to help you

  • I hope your baby is sleeping longer soon! The lack of sleep would be so exhausting. Have you tried a baby carrier? This might help with longer sleeps during the day.

  • My daughter had a better sleep pattern once she started on solids. Maybe your baby might need a little more food. It’s worth a try.

  • How frustrating and tiring! MoMs had a rewards prize of products that help Bub sleep, maybe check it out

  • Is she still having the bottle? Plus could she possibly still be hungry? Both my kids wouldn’t sleep or for long if they were hungry. This was when they were going through a grow spurt?
Is she moody, could she be teething?

  • My children only ever slept for lengths of time when wrapped. I started doing this on the advice of the maternal health centres sleep school. If you are not coping I would recommend you see if something like this is available to you.

  • Just make sure you start winding down to allow for a nap when you notice the tired signs. Set a routine if you have to, of fresh diaper, feed, cuddles and some quiet activity like reading or nursery ryhmes. My first fought sleep and usually just had to do quiet activities and let her sleep while I was holding her if need be. Some babies just struggle with winding down and need a lot of help.

  • So at 5 months kids are meant to only be awake for 2hrs.
    We did a feed,play sleep.
So up at 6am for bottle before food. Then play until 8am down for a nap with his sleep music, sleeping less then one hour was resettle, up for bottle at 10am play and then bed at 12 up again 2pm to repeat feed, playsleep the only sleep that was short was the 4pm 45min nap….bed at 7pm with a dreamfeed at 10pm to get through night.
Do you know your child’s tired signs(google will help) the big thing is to make sure they are not getting overtired. You need to get a routine going that will work for you. If that is music or a special, hug and say the same words and do the same things so they learn it is naptime. Will take a few days to get in to a routine but will be so worth it

  • My son was a nightmare at sleeping for the first 3 months. I found playing him soothing music such as baby lullabies or albums called “Rock-a-bye baby lullaby” worked really well. Search YouTube and Apple Music. Best of luck Mumma
