Hello!

I am having a lot of trouble getting rid of stains from clothes once they have already been washed in the washing machine.  Some of my clothes are coming out with dirt type stains. Please can you help.

  • Have you done a wash cycle to clean out your washing machine? And checked the seals for dirt build up.

  • I would soak them in something like Napisan or use a product like Vanish.

  • I would make a paste using Napisan and spread it over the stain and leave for an hour or so before washing again.

  • I use a pure soap block like sunlight soap with a hard short nail brush to scrub stains and it works wonders. I have often success with old stains as well.
I also wash my washing machine every month with bicarb of soda and vinegar to get rid of residu and mold and mildew.

  • I think one of the Mums may mean Orange Power Pre-wash Spray. I find it is the best. i find ifyou dampen the patch spray then rub it in your hands the stains usually come straight out. On the odd occasion they haven’t I sometimes throw them in a bucket of water for awhile before putting in my washing machine. I found that putting extra washing detergent in your washing machine is NOT the answer. I also saw a “Choice” report on a current affairs show on TV about it—after I had tried it. You can also make a paste using Napisan Oxyaction, put it on the stain and give it a vigorous rub before putting it in the wash. Napisan Oxyaction can also be used in your washing machine. With washing that isn’t dirty looking as such, (i.e. mainly just body odour) we also discovered that you usually don’t need as much detergent as stated on the container. We experimented a few times. They looked and smelt no different when washed – less wear and tear on your clothes…less chemical effecting your clothes or your washing machine.

  • I end up throwing them out

  • also along these lines, wash white stuff together! they will go grey if you wash with all the other clothes. i agree to wash in cold water and maybe try some bleach if you have to. i use white king in the wash or vanish– you can get a trigger spray that you use on the stain and then wash it normally. I find that having a front loader, washes my clothes better and gets rid of more stains. good luck

  • I find hanging clothes in direct sunlight shifts stains that won’t go normally. Or Vanish works the best of all stain removers.

  • Try not to let the stain dry, soak in napisan (pink container) in cold water, ideally I only ever wash in cold, that way if I have missed a stain it generally will not set and it is easier to get out, once a stain has been washed in hot water usually there is no hope.

  • The Sard really worked and all my husband work shirts came out clean and no more stains.Even got to deep cleaned my washing machine which took a whole day. Thanks for the tips ladies

  • I think i would be putting a washing machine cleaner through a hot wash just to be sure your machine hasnt got anything in it.

  • I will also say thank you as I know know to try Sards.

  • i find that the ‘orange’ brand pre treater gets out just about everything, even it has been washed (even animal and human blood, my 6yo somines gets nose bleeds at night, so bood on the pillow, ie human blood. and my fiance is truck driver/butcher and handles the carcasses so lots of animal blood on his clothes (obviously a seperate wash and the machine then gets a wash)) but the orange brand pretreater gets all of the blood and other stains out. its the only one i use.

  • Thanks ladies and went to buy the SARD washing powder, and also clean out my washing machine. Now I shall see the results tomorrow once my washing is done. Thankyou for your answers ladies

  • This has happened to me.
You need to wash your machine basically.
Fill on hot water only a full cycle and add 4 cups white vinegar. Agitate for a cpl minutes then let sit for an hr or 2 with the lid closed. Turn cycle back on and let it complete. Use the longest cycle.
