  • I love using lay by it helps me to budget but still get the items I want.

  • You can sell your old clothes prior to buying new ones that way your not out laying any money. You can always shop on ebay and facebook sites as well as a lot of people buy something and it is still new but they no longer want it.

  • I only purchase items when they are on special or reduced. You have to stick to a budget, it really is the only way.

  • You just have as many savings as you can in areas like groceries, insurance and unnecessary luxuries.

  • there are some good comments here

  • buy the cheaper stuff :)

  • I buy most of my cleaning products from the reject shop find it heaps cheaper then the supermarket.Any where I can save a dollar I will .Better in my pocket then somebody else’s .

  • Look for something that has a 5 star energy efficiency rating.

  • I try and meal plan , thus buying meat in bulk . I have replaced a lot of “conventional” cleaning products for a safer and more economical option – bicarb, vinegar/lemon , with a splash of lavender/ eucalyptus oil if I feel like a scent – and we , as a family, love to cook, so we are forever finding new recipes to try and goodies to bake as well.

  • I have found it rewarding reading the answers here

  • Meal plan – I just spent $50 and we’ll get almost 2 wks of meals from it. I bought veg and meat in bulk and find set a real money saver. I agree – vouchers are also a winner as are freebies such as samples :)

  • Buy things like cleaning products, toilet paper, tissues, toiletries etc from discount stores like Chemist Warehouse, Cheap as Chips, Reject Shop etc. We do this and find some items at half the cost of that in the supermarket! Over time you save a fair bit of money!

  • use coupons and vouchers, flybuys etc.

  • You have to create budget.

  • Hope some of these suggestions have helped.
