  • Are you a custody grandparent. Then raise them how you raised your own, only without the mistakes you made. If you need help ask the children’s friends parents for help, plus their teachers. If you are just a grandparent with no custody, then you can enjoy your time with them, spoil them slightly, but teach them your idea of what is good and what is not. Its the parents job to raise them whether we like it or not. Its their children.. Good luck, all will be fine . Love to all Lyn.

  • All you can do is give them love and support.

  • As a grandmother I don’t have the responsibilities that parents have toward their children, but I try to respect and uphold their parent’s rules. However I get to spoil my grandchildren a little and their parents accept that. Isn’t that why the grandchildren enjoy spending time with us? What goes on at Nanny’s, stays at Nanny’s !!

  • Do you have permanent custody? That may influence your choices.

  • I’m not a grandmother yet, but in my opinion the grandmother doesn’t have to raise her grandchildren, that’s up to the parents. I see the role of a grandparents as someone who unconditionally loves and responds (corrects and sets boundaries in the line the parents do).
