Hello!

“Could you please ask the other mums about ink carpet stains?
Today I pulled up the lounges to vacuum only to find that somehow a pen has been pushed under the lounge and the leg of the lounge has crushed the end, exploding a purple ink stain into the carpet about 3×2 inches in size.
I’ve been using the bi carb soda and vinegar combination on it. It has lifted it slightly but still very noticeable. Any other ideas?? Please help!”

  • What colour is the carpet? Bleach if it’s white? If not maybe try steam clean it with the shop ones? An extra shampooer

  • Ink stays there for good! Unless u could ask carpet cleaners

  • I heard Shannon Lush recommend the curds of off milk put on ink will get rid of it, then you clean the milk off with a cold wet cloth. Good luck.

  • Oh ouch. Ink does not come out of anything! Call a carpet cleaner

  • Hope things worked out well and you were able to remove the stain

  • How did it go I would like to know

  • you could go to your local carpet shop and get their advice

  • How did you go with this? If you haven’t had any luck and its light carpet you could always try bleaching it out?

  • Great question I have 2 stains from textas can’t wait to see your replies.

  • I find adding some peroxide to bicarb and vinegar works well. I’m sure that’s what I used it on the same problem when we sold a unit and it came out fine, though from memory it took 3-4 attempts to get it completely out. I’d leave the paste on to soak in, scrub, let dry, repeat.

  • I would love to know the answer to this one too, I have tried eucalyptus oil, preen, all to no avail.. I did have some success with a spot cleaner (bought from woolies, from the part where you hire the carpet shampoeer)

  • I have heard WD40 works not sure if its true or not

  • One product I know works beautifully is motsenbocker’s lift off stain remover- I successfully removed sharpie from carpet, couch, tv, wooden tv unit and train track when my toddler found one and got creative.

  • Baby wipe, preen or depending on ink type eucalyptus.

  • I’ve used Vanish preen for carpets, even though it doesn’t state it removes ink for me it removed stain, I applied it several times blotting stain with water and reapplying carpet stain remover, mind you I did it as soon as ink got on carpet, so not sure if it will help with a stain that has been there for a while.
