Hello!

Liz has messaged us asking “My 10month old son likes to bite, everything and everyone. Is there anything I can do to stop this. I tell him no, and that hurts and he just giggles.” How do you stop a 10 month old from biting?

  • I agree with Emily, put him down straight away after saying auw that hurts, then walk away (so you don’t give him any type of positive attention).

  • If you are holding him, I would put him down straight away and keep doing that until he gets the idea as he probably won’t like getting put down.

  • Sometimes biting back will work as it clearly explains that it is not a nice thing to do

  • i hope you’ve had success

  • Hope you managed to find the answer you were looking for.

  • What did you end up doing?

  • Has he grown out of it yet?

  • Hopefully just a phase that they will eventually grow out of.

  • My son did this, he eventually grew out of it, but his poor sister copped a lot.

  • Thanks heaps for posting, was also wondering. :P

  • i would love to know the answer for this also my 22 month old bites his 3 sisters all the time

  • When he does it don’t speak jut get up put him down and walk away. He will soon learn

  • I used too firmly say no and pop him on the floor he would cry for a minute and I would pick him up after he stopped if he did it again I would repeat, it didn’t take long for him too get it! But he used too bite more when his teeth were coming through

  • Don’t worry so much he’ll grow out of. Teething toys help thou

  • Attach a teething ring to his dummy and if he persists say NO very strongly and loud
