Hello!

Anyone have any tips on how to stop nappy bucket’s from smelling so bad between washes (when it’s storing dirty nappies)?

  • I would try a different type of bin liner and make sure your emptying it regularly. Atleast twice a day.

  • It could be the material the nappy bin is made out of absorbing the smell. Maybe you will need to empty the bin more often and wash more regularly, or replace with a different type of bin.

  • I used Napisan in my buckets and also had lids that clipped on. Once they were full and I washed the nappies, I then rinsed out the buckets. I didn’t notice any bad lingering smells

  • Use fregrenced disposeable nappy bags also when wash bin wash it with any giod smell spray as well

  • How often do you wash the nappies? Do you put them in antibacterial either liquid or powder diluted in water? Which room do you store them in? All things to consider. I wouldn’t not store them in a bedroom. They should go into soaker immediately, not later. Maybe have 2 buckets and alternate them. Change the soaker twice a day instead of one. Have a separate bucket for those which are only wet. Wash you nappies every day or every second day.

  • Bi carb possibly or maybe spray really heavily before and after use or a drop of natural oil

  • If the lid is on, it should be fine. You can also get odour eliminators in the form of a liquid, just 1 drop and it neutralises odours.

  • I always sat mine in the laundry with a lid on. I used Napisan in the bucket and never noticed much smell

  • Really very interesting comments on this! Thanks

  • Don’t think you can. If you gave soiled nappies and happy soak in there, there’s not much else that can be done. Try using a lid to keep the smell contained, that’s all I have

  • Put the lid on. You should be rinsing nappies I assume you are using cloth. and then you put them in the bucket to soak. Also keep the bucket in the laundry with the door closed.

  • have you looked in to the bucket that wraps nappys and seals them.

  • I stopped using mine for the same reason.

  • bio carbon sode in the bucket and vingar white cup table spoon bio carbon sode

  • Leave it in the sun to dry.
