Hello!

My daughter is 3 months old and I express and occasionally give her milk from a bottle, ( baby no3 and need the flexability) but I don’t always know when I will need it. How do you store sterilised bottles so that I don’t have to do it every time I need one and delay the feeding time.

  • We just boiled ours in a big saucepan and pulled them our to air dry on a drying rack.

  • Cleaned properly specially the teats and dry it well

  • If you put the teat/ring/bottle together, and then put the lid on tight, I believe it will stay sterile for up to 24 hours. After that, you have to resterilise.

  • Sterlised bottles stay sterilised provided that have not been used . Keep lids , teats, caps on all the time and you should be right. You can put them in the fridge for extra precaution but it is not necessary because babies go through so many feeds you will use them quickly and going through the process again .

  • as long as they are cleaned properly and dried well

  • We use an airtight container

  • Bottles only stay sterile for 24 hours. Keep them sterile for as long as possible by assembling them once you’ve finished sterilising, including putting a cap on tightly.

  • Pop then in the back of the fridge

  • I hope you found some advice that helped.

  • I was the same as you and only used bottles occasionally. I’d only use the avent bottles that came with the lid on top, make sure they’re completely dry before assembling them, putting the lid on, and keeping them in the kitchen cupboard. I like the idea of keeping them in the fridge though.
