Hello!

I am interested to know how long you spend cleaning the house? Do you do it per week, day or month?

  • I try to clean a bit everyday. Obviously the usual dishes and benches daily (for what feels like a million times) I try to breakdown other areas of the house so I’m not doing it all on the same day.

  • I do a couple of hours of housework each day.

  • Daily vacuuming, dusting etc one hour. Saturday full clean bathroom toilets etc probably 2-3 hours. Floors washed. Cutlery cleaned etc.

  • I try and do a little bit every day. That way it doesn’t get over whelming, which tends to happen when you think of doing a whole house in one day

  • An hour a day – and then hubby helps do a bit more on the weekend. The hour is split into 30 minutes general, wipe down benches, quick sweep, toilets, toys away. And the other 30 minutes is one room clean a day, vaccum, dust, clean, change sheets etc.

  • not long enough, usually an hour a day? for everything!

  • Having a toddler and a newborn I have to spread the house cleaning, I do some cleaning every day, it feels like there is no end. On the weekend when hubby is home he takes the kids out for about 3-4 hours that I can give another chunk.

  • It feels like I am forever cleaning LOL… I have a checklist that includes daily tasks, weekly tasks (spread out across the days), monthly tasks and try and stick to these so that I do a bit of cleaning each day rather than spending hours on the weekend cleaning.

  • Cleaning the house is very different to daily chores like washing up, cooking etc. that are done and must be done every day. Cleaning the house can sometimes wait if I’m sick, tired or just too busy (or else I can persuade someone else to do it for a bit of pocket money). Cleaning the house chores include washing floors and vacuuming, removing cobwebs (once a week); washing windows, cleaning showers (once a quarter); wiping down walls and doors (twice a year); lampshades, air conditioning ducts, ceilings, shelves (once a year);cleaning chimney, curtains (once every few years). And some are seasonal like cleaning gutters (more in fire danger season) and tending the wood heater (every other day in winter to remove soot build up from glass).

  • I SEEM TO HAVE TO DO GENERAL CLEANING AND TIDYING EACH DAY, LARGER CLEANING JOBS CAN BE ET FOR ONE BIG JOB PER DAY,EG LIKE BATHROOMS AND TOILETS,SHOWER ,FLOORS ETC..IG CLEAN UPS LIKE SKIRTING BOARDS AND WINDOWS ETC ONCE A MONTH OR EVERY 6 WEEKS. hOUSEWORK IS NEVER DONE i FIND ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO. kEEPING CLUTTER AND THROW AWAYS HELPS TO MINIMISE TASK. nO EASY SOLUTION AS DEPENDS ON HOUSE AND USER SIZE

  • I clean all of the time. I start the day by putting a load of Laundry on and emptying the dishwasher. I then sort out breakfast and then the dishes can go straight into the empty dishwasher. Wipe surfaces (bench and table). I find it not so much of a chore by just incorporating it in as I go. Then I clean the shower and change the sheets once a week. I have a cord free stick vacuum so I vacuum quite regularly as it is so easy (and have floorboards).

  • I tend to clean what needs to be cleaned when I notice it. Have found that if I try to schedule it, it never gets done as something always crops up that is urgently required to be done then. So when I go into the bathroom and see something is required, I’ll spend 1/2 to 1 hour in there cleaning, then go onto something else. Cleaning down the shower recess every time I shower, or cleaning the cooking hob after each use, or the oven or the microwave, keeps things OK while I get on with my busy life of appointments, etc.

  • Allocating a set time each day does help, there is always so much else to do and no one wants to spend all day cleaning! Unless of course, you like cleaning. :)

  • Clean everyday as it makes keeping the house clean and in order and easier job!

  • I do big scale cleans ie vaccum, toilets, showers, dusting once a week or ever 10 days but vaccum every 3days in between and general tidying everyday.
