  • Books are a necessity. I believe you can never have too many of them. I only get rid of them if they Really have seen better days. As for toys, they are very disposable. I op shop toys every 12 months.

  • We have too many toys the kids dont play with them. All gifted by family. I like to store half and rotate them through the year

  • I used to go to the toy library to borrow toys n give back. It doesn’t clutter the house same goes for books too. My daughter has 1 small cupboard of books, if you bring more books in, then some books needs to come out to give away or sell it. I would rather my kids borrow books from the library, 1 bucket of toys n the rest is outings to create memories.

  • It’s individual but get rid of what’s not used and you’ll feel better.

  • You can never ave too many books! For toys, do your kids play with them all regularly? If not, yes, you may have too many.

  • You can rotate toys by putting some away and bringing others out for the kids to play with. They often lose interest in some for while so we found that was a good idea. I would only borrow easily washable toys. Books can be passed down through the age groups. They also can be rotated if you wish to do so.

  • A good way to get around owning too many toys and books is to borrow books from the library and to also use a toy library.

  • You probably notice it at your child’s behaviour. Enough to stimulate your child and keep her/him occupied. Too many may cause your kid feeling overwhelmed, difficulty to choose, over stimulation, struggle to keep things tidy/organised, unthankful behaviour.
When you feel you have too much pack some away and rotate :)
