Hello!

I have just had a baby who is four months old. I have not got my periods as yet. I am still breastfeeding but not solely. I think I might be pregnant again. Is this truly possible as I believe I might have fallen pregnant about one and a half months ago? I am scared of checking and I suppose postponing the answer as I have four children now.

  • Sure is possible. Any updates from the original OP?

  • Yep it’s possible alright! Take the test you will only worry yourself sick otherwise then you can start to deal with the result! Good luck… I hope the result you get is the one you are after!

  • Yes, it’s possible you’re pregnant. Hope all works out.

  • I knew someone with kids 11 months apart, so yes it is definitely possible.

  • yes, of course it’s possible. There is a section in the front or back of all the baby books on contraception. Take the test now.

  • I was on the pill and fell pregnant – not great…. scary pregnancy, worrying about any potential health outcomes to my son…..

  • If you’ve had unprotected sex, then yes, It’s possible! Do a test.

  • I have heard about it happening alot straight after giving birth, your hormones are a lot higher after just having a baby & while breastfeeding which makes it easier to fall pregnant.

  • You can fall pregnant at any time after having a baby. It is unlikely that you would fall again in the first few months after but not impossible or unheard of. My mother grew up in a very religious family where contraception was never talked about so she was 6 months pregnant with me before she knew it (as she had given birth to my older sister only 2 months before conceiving me!). And she was fully breast feeding my sister so it is plausible that you could have conceived again.

Though not everyone will agree with this statement (which is fine because it’s not their body), you should do a test so you know when you stand and can assess all of your options and talk to your doctor about the possible risks of having quick succession pregnancies. Good luck with what ever happens.

  • I think you should check. Hopefully you get the answer you want

  • it could be normal! i took 6mths to get my period back after my first baby and i was breastfeeding.

  • It takes just one time!

  • Even though you haven’t got your period back you could be pregnant as breast feeding is not a contraceptive. I’d test. I’d also use condoms if you aren’t pregnant until you get back onto birth control options.

  • You are very fertile after having a baby

  • certainly you could be pregnant again. Not getting tested is putting off the inevitable …
