Hello!

38 weeks tomorrow & sooo excited to meet my little munchkin! Finally finished up at work on Friday after never being off work since starting at 14 years of age – full time since I finished my HSC. I have all this time on my hands and all I have been doing is cleaning lol! Days seem to go on for so so long & its only day 2! What sort of things did other mums do to keep occupied? :)

  • I would first of all have everything prepared for babies coming and then just relax of the free time you have now. Catch up with friends/family, read a book, get some knitting or crocheting going, pamper yourself and go to the hair dressers or if you like get your nails done ;)

  • I’m such a nerd, I was at work until a week before I was due so I caught up on a lot of cleaning, writing to my pen pals, cross stitching and scrapbooking.
Maybe you can go for a coffee and a walk, enjoy time at the beach and cull your wardrobe as that’s something that constantly needs attention.

  • Read books – revel in the last free time you’ll have for a while – have lunch wiht friends.

  • Just enjoy doing nothing because once baby arrives, you won’t have much time to yourself, to clean or otherwise

  • Enjoy the roses!

  • Take this time to have some rest, catch up friends, go to the movies, to the hairdresser, manicure, cooking and freeze some meals… Perhaps start your journey, a beautiful keepsake for your little one. You will be so busy once Bub in here that maybe you won’t have time for lots of things.

  • Trust me and try to rest. I know its the last thing you want to do when your anxiously waiting for your little one to arrive but its worth trying because when you have bubs arrives you will need all the energy you can find.

  • Resting. Relaxing. Lol opposite of what you’ve been doing. Reading, catching up with friends. Don’t you have a to do list or bucket list? Good time to tackle that list if you have one

  • sleep!! I finished work at 32 weeks. enjoy all the peace

  • I studied by taking an online course, it was brilliant, I love keeping my mind ticking over and learning.

  • sleep! read a book! surf the net. walking, meet friends for coffee/visit famiy so many things!!!

  • I did the exact same things as you, I cleaned and cleaned. If I could turn back time I would rest a lot. I went into labour a week early. So I only had a week off work. I had been cleaning so much that I was too exhausted to push the baby out. It was a horrible experience.

  • After being told how much time I won’t have when baby arrives, I tried to catch up on my favourite tv shows, movies, anything I wanted to read or do before baby came and made lists of people to contact, pre-drafted a baby announcement and tried to get food in the cupboard that would be okay for snacking/quick meals.

For the first 8 weeks after baby, you will be getting lots of visitors, attending to the baby every few hours and learning to adjust your life around someone else’s schedule, so definitely fit in some time to knock off any projects/tasks that are important to you.

Good luck with your upcoming adventure.

  • My daughter in law enjoyed her last few weeks finishing off the nursery & washing all the baby clothes. She even cooked & froze some meals for the first few weeks that she was grateful for that advice when the bub arrived. Enjoy your last few weeks & make sure you pamper yourself before the big day.

  • Make sure you shower and dress and go out every day
treat your self to a coffee and relax it is OK
when baby comes you will be busy enough it is true
so now is time to take care of you
we were never taught how this to do
Go to a park ,smile and talk to elders too
it will make their day as well as good for you
    I was a workaholic too
wish I had learned earlier nice things just for me to do
visit girlfriends have lunch and enjoy
the freedom just to be, hope these words you will employ
jeannie bliss {this is me and my nephew} have kids and grand kids too so know!!!
