Hello!

Don’t like to use chemical around my children.  But need the carpet cleaned, thought about hiring the machine at Coles (as it is cheaper than calling some company to do it or me) but don’t like the way it uses so much water then the carpet takes a long time to dry. Any ideas?

  • We hired a person and he used a dry clean and it worked better than a wet clean, very happy!

  • I would hire one of those carpet cleaner’s from woolworths or get a professional maybe.

  • i would hire someone as they always have deals going on like $80-$100 for 3 rooms and 4th room free etc. this is the general price range and they do a great job. you just have to organize your family to get out of the way (hang around the backyard or go to the park etc)
but you won’t have to move anything or put in any effort lol

for spot cleaning, i use this foaming spray which is antibac and soaks in and foams dirt off and can dry very quickly. there is another product that i use that is a foam that you spray on and it dries pretty much straight away and it’s anti bac also and smells great

yes i was trying to describe 2 different products but can’t remember the names! glade is the 2nd product i think

  • There are a number of carpet sprays on the market, however I don’t find they do the job properly. You could have them professionally cleaned but even the dry clean ones that you can walk on straight away are not totally dry. I have a Bissell with a built in heater and I still need to wait sometime before the carpets are dry.

  • You might like to try drytron

  • Some cleaning product companies do a powdered cleaner – like Vanish Napisan

  • I used the hire one before and it does a great job! A lot of fun to use too!

  • We use a commercial company. It costs less than $100 and they don’t use water so the carpets can be walked on straight away and we don’t have to worry about mould under the carpets. I don’t know what coles charge but for $100 I can’t be bothered doing it myself, lol.

  • there are some good comments here

  • I agree that steam cleaners are good

  • I would just hire a steam cleaner. it cleans and dries at the same time.

  • Just call up the pros :)

  • Get the professionals in :) they’re the ones tht know why they’re doing.

  • If you don’t like the drying time you could try the ones you dry clean the carpet

  • these are great ideas :)
