In these troubled times what is the best way to find work?
My CV and Cover Letter are always rejected and you get down.

  • It is so hard but you never give up and things will work out one way or another.

  • I have done the above – sit all day on my lap top, gain feedback on my applications (which I get told over qualified or a person from the mining industry got the position). I spend my day like it is a job to get a job. I do nothing short of doing a helicopter drop. Where can you get an objective opinion regarding your CV and Cover Letter? My LinkedIn profile apparently is not that great, but people do not know how I can improve it. That is my update response


  • You just head out, day after day, and hand your resume in at businesses. You sit online and do online submits. You apply for every job going, including ones you don’t really want of think you can’t really do. And you never quit!


  • I feel your pain. My husband is getting rejected a lot too and he has a fantastic resume, experience and qualifications. I think there are just too many job seekers for jobs at the moment. Its such a tough time for every industry

  • Why not start your own business become an independent consultant you work your hours and the rewards are great. The more work you put into the more you get out.   • Often taking your cv to places local to you even if they aren’t advertising, helps.


  • I have tried Google – most based on US versions. Been to several agencies – all very subjective – some say that it is great. I also had it professionally looked at and received interviews at government agencies. Ver very tough. Wish I could post a copy of it.


  • Research the places you apply to work at and include it in your CV. It looks good.


  • Register with recruitment agencies and don’t be too picky with temp work. Even a short term assignment will look great on the resume!


  • Maybe look at getting some help with updating your info.
