  • Yes I really dont understand why people flock to the pools and beaches on such extreme weather days to me it makes no sense what so ever you travel there in the heat have a swim in the water then travel back home in the heat

  • stay indoors, make sure you dress lightly; wet your hair and splash yourself with water; fans if really necessary

  • GO to your local
Shopping centre where there’s aircon and keep up your fluids

  • I’m pregnant at the moment and most of the time I am around air con. But I feel the heat and the season has just started! Drinking enough is a top priority and when I’m not around a fan or air con, wet face washers on my face and neck, as well as icy poles are my savior!

  • Not a lot more to add mom93821 has supplied a great list and other moms have added great suggestions as well. If you do not have air con but use a fan at times consider putting a bowl of cool water or ice blocks in front of it.

  • To keep the house naturally cool keep the sun out by closing all the blinds .Do you have sun shades for outside?worth investing in some if you don’t.l have evaporative cooling which l’ll put on if it’s a really hot day.

  • We close and the blinds and curtains and don’t let any sun through! Open everything in the evening for fresh air.

  • I would just sit in my pool for a long time.

  • My neighbour used to have thick curtains that she kept closed during summer. Windows closed on really hot days. A fan going to circulate the air. Cold drinks. Water spritzs. Not much to do to keep cool on hot days outside unless you’re going to the beach or pool

  • Also; our curtains have block out on them and they really do keep out the heat. A good investment for sure!

  • Stay hydrated, keep the blinds closed, sometimes windows too depending on the temp. Ice blocks are great too or frozen cocktails ;)

  • I try to use air conditioning as little as possible due to the cost and the impact on the environment. I open up the house early for fresh air and close curtains before the heat hits the house. I cook main meals during cooler periods and then reheat later. I try to limit using the stove, oven and other appliances that produce heat. I use blinds on outside windows too to keep the heat away from windows. We also dress for the warmer weather in lighter clothing. Also; we drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
