Hello!

Hi, I’m normally a big water drinker (more than 2 litres per day), however since I’ve been pregnant I’ve found that I can’t stomach it the way I used too – I don’t like the texture or the feeling in my tummy. I’ve tried having herbal teas and soda water & not being lemon season, I can’t put lemons in the water to make it taste better. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to increase my intake? Thanks for your help.

  • Hydrolites could help if you can’t stomache water

  • I see this is a very old question, only see it now. I bet your ‘problem’ is solved, at least you’re not pregnant anymore, unless you’re pregnant again ;)

  • I don’t think I can add any more to the suggestions that have already been made.

  • I freeze lemons in ice cubes and always have them available all year long.
Be careful with cordials that contain quite some sugar.

  • Add a few drops of cordial for flavour.
Hopefully that will make it a bit more appealing to you.

  • I add sugar free lemon cordi in mine – and eat soup, an high water veges like zucchini and mushies…. Water comes from more than one source…. take care x

  • There are some very helpful ideas here.

  • I mixed soda water with fruit juice cordials. This was my lifesaver! Just make sure it is maybe a more natural cordial and not one loaded with sugar and nasties

  • Thin broths, soups, smoothies with whole fruits, yogurt fruit and veggie smoothies are all good ways to get some extra fluids. Cold brewed teas like peppermint, chamomile might help too.

  • Maybe try some infused water, fresh berries or cucumber, lychees, mint anything you can think of. It is delicious!

  • ice-blocks, cordial or just high water content fruit like oranges and watermelon

  • I found eating ice chips was a good way to keep hydrated or watering down juice.

  • Just try some different flavours oranges or even grapefruit, good luck

  • add some lemon and see if it makes it easier

  • Cucumber, lime, or orange slices work as well as lemons.
