Hello!

Hi, advice from mums please, my first child will b nearly 2 wen I have our 2nd child, will it be worth getting a double pram for when I’m out? Or keep single & have 2yo walk? Is it worth getting a double pram?

  • If you buy a uppababy frame you can attached and detach a seat and ask yourself….will it make life easier for you to shop?

  • I’d definitely have a double for that age. Or atleast a buggy board to pop toddler on unless you can baby wear one. Nightmare if toddler decides to run off or gets too tired to walk etc. Easier with a pram – atleast they can sleep in it

  • I found it very helpful in places like car parks, as I felt more confident that each child was safe as I took turns getting them in and out of the car.

  • If you decide to use a harness, you can get some that incorporate little backpacks nd the children love the fact that they are carrying the animal on their backs. The ones I have seen were made from towelling fabric. You may be frowned apon by some people but it is safer to have them wearing harness than running off.

  • We had a double pram & I absolutely hated it! It made things so much more difficult! I couldn’t fit it down shopping aisles, car parks were the worst, it was difficult to manoeuvre. Maybe I just purchased the wrong kind as I’ve since seen the long double pram where as mine was side by side. But I would never purchase another double pram. I would carry baby in a sling then when your eldest is ready & able to walk put baby in the pram.
    Best of luck!

  • I got a cheapish double pram/stroller when my 2nd son was born my first was 18 months. Makes life easier if they both fall asleep in the car or you need to get in and out of the shop in a hurry. I only just stopped using mine because my eldest is now too tall for it. At 4 and 2. But have a single one with me all the time just in case

  • A baby sling may be more suited to you for when your two year old is tired, can use the pram and baby can be carried. It will depend on how much walking you will be doing. Two year old’s can walk a fair distance as long as they are not tired. There are so many different prams available so explore the different ones and decide. If your little one will be walking I suggest you have a harness so you do not have a run away child! I had one in a harness walking and one in the pram. If you decide to, there are a wide variety of harness available as well. Get your toddler used to a harness, make buying one a special event.

  • Have you considered the little step that you can get, that attaches to the pram, in case your little one gets tired of walking?

  • They are really great i found!!

  • a pram that can be used for single and double is best, or a single with attachable buggy is also good option.
Baby wearing worked better for us though,

  • Depending how close in age your child is and how stable as you could get a skate board to attach to your pram for you 2yr old to stand on.

  • I didn’t buy a double pram and my eldest was just shy of 19 months when her brother was born and we’ve survived.

  • We had a double pram for a while. Needed it to.

  • I think a double pram would be the better option. Miss or Mr 2yo will still get tired legs and possibly feel a bit neglected because they don’t get a ride in the pram anymore.

  • I love my double pram, I have twins and I bought a city select. I bought an extra seat for ours so I can have 2 in our pram, I love it and recommend to anyone.
