Hello!

We have seat covers for the front seats, is it worth getting them for the back seat where the kids sit? They are still in their individual car seats?

  • They can be a good idea to protect the actual car seats, and can be replaced easier than stain removal of the car seat.

  • Yes!!!

  • Personally I wouldn’t bother when you have vinyl or leather seats, as these are just as easy to wipe clean.

  • Also if you give baby a bottle of water and it drips …..or baby vomits…..the seat cover will absorb some of the moisture instead of it all going onto your ordinary seat of your car……and may even make a difference whether it runs down between the two parts of your seat. We initially used thick absorbant towels almost the same colour as our upholstery.

  • Yes if if they are quality seats you want to protect. But I think if it is vinyl or leather it maybe easier just to wipe them clean . I actually have a towel/rug on mine during winter ( don’t know why as its become a habit ) . Mostly I leave it bare as I wipe it now and then anyway .

  • Absolutely. Our car is so much easier to keep clean with backseat car covers. It’s amazing how much stuff makes its way there – sultanas, pom poms, rubbish, spilt yoghurt (I’ve never seen them eat yoghurt in the car..?) etc.

  • Even with vinyl seats it is worth it. If they have an “accident” the seat covers will help to absorb the mess and hopefully it won’t go down between the back and the seat section.
Vinyl can be very hot to sit on. In hot weather if your car has been in the sun at all, you can actually burn exposed skin if you sit on them. Bear in mind that they may be in their own seats but their legs, feet and arms will at some point touch the actual seat.
Also it helps to stop the child carseats rubbing and marking the actual car seat. If at some point you decide to remove it from your car, I am sure you will find another use for it. One of ours was velour had a type of foam on the wrong side. We used it as a small picnic rug for a few years. I now have it and put it on the floor with a cotton blanket on the top if it. The baby loves to play on it Most car seat covers are washable / or used to be. I don’t know about the latest ones. Our car seat was as good as new when we took it out of the car when we sold it.

  • yes it is worth it. you might ave to make adjustments to it to fit car seats but you will work it out

  • I think I might invest and get one awesome thanks heaps!

  • YES!!!!! Even though the kids have been told not to eat in the backseat they always end up having bits and pieces. Also it helps in case of any little vomiting incidents etc. My back seat cover has kept my back seat in prestine condition.

  • Yes definetly, it’s amazing how much food a toddler drops

  • If your car seats are vinyl, don’t worry too much as they just wipe clean. If you have cloth seats and plan to give the kids food or drink when in the car, I would definitely invest in covers for the back seat!

  • We have one in our new car and I’m glad we do.
