Hello!

Was wondering if anyone had some tried and tested lactation cookie recipes? Or any milk boosting recipes in general. Thank you!

  • Just eating enough and staying hydrated and making sure you have a good balance of minerals and vitamins in the food you eat

  • I tried the store bought boonie bikkies but as a coeliac I found it didnt do too much other than give me a snack. So I started making my own and they were nutritious so I was at least keeping my sugars up but no real difference in the milk front. This time around I will try again and I’ll start the cookies earlier and consider a supplement if needed :-)

  • Yes I agree, just eat daily a good amount of nuts, it works best !

  • I used the recipe on The Milk Meg’s blog, and adapted it to our preferred flavours. But personally I found nibbling a quarter to half a cup of almonds a day boosted by milk supply far more effectively. Before I started eating almonds, I’d never felt engorged or leaked milk, but after that I did. Hope that helps! :)

  • This one is great! Worked a great for me, and they taste good too!

  • The ABA recipe is good. I don’t have a link though sorry.
Also, if you’d rather purchase them than cook them then Pinky McKay’s Boobie Bikkies are really yummy.

  • I struggled with milk and researched them a bit. In the majority it’s just a cookie with brewers yeast in it. Oats are also meant to boost milk supply so any oat based recipes with brewers yeast added will cover off all the ‘active’ ingredients.
