  • Go for fun and colour, rolled up sandwiches, rice paper rolls, pita bread, mini pizzas, quiches, sausage rolls. I use food picks to make food fun whilst still being healthy. My children’s teachers tell me that the other kids love seeing what is in my boys lunchbox everyday. Also it comes home empty!

  • Yes! oranges, jatz and olives are good! Very interesting reading the comments on this!

  • Veggie sticks and dips. Cheese, cabana and biscuits. Last nights dinner leftovers, depending on what they are, eg are they easy to eat, do they need re heating?? Homemade is best where you can, too much hidden added sugar in shop bought items

  • finger foods
    cheese and carrot sticks
    apple slices
    oranges
    jatz
    olives
    fairy bread
    popcorn
    sultanas

  • Kabana and cheese hit in our home

  • I have strawberry, raspberries, banana, grapes,

  • Pretzels and little tubs of fruit salad are popular with my little ones.

  • wraps with fruits and some plain yoghurt?

  • Banana breads are popular, crumbed chicken pieces, I try to organise dinners that I can use the leftovers of!

  • there are some good comments here

  • Mini packets of pretzels are a big hit in our house for lunch boxes :D

  • every day my preppie takes (and devours) a variety of – fruit, yoghurt (in the reusable pouches – so easy for portion control and costs a lot less), sandwiches, crackers, home made muffins, spaghetti/baked beans.

  • Rice Crackers – With Ham, Turkey or any meat with cheese. Favorite would have to be Cream Cheese and Smoked salmon

  • I have had a couple recipes posted in the baking section recently. Healthy fruit bites, they are like little jelly bites and also rice bubble marshmallow bars, they are almost the same as bought LCM bars. Instead of buying muesli bars, you can make granola bars and muffins. Instead of sandwiches, my daughter likes different things like chicken wraps and bagels. you can make dried fruit or home made roll ups, using your oven or a food dehydrator. I have saved so much money last year, I refuse to buy pre package school foods!

  • Thanks for the ideas… Great questin
