Hello!

My 10 month old baby throws tantrums when I take something away from him and he cries endlessly. Is this normal? How can I get him to stop?

  • Tantrums are a completely normal, part of a child’s development. You’ve got a few more years of these to go

  • A 10 month old baby doesn’t understand that things are going to come back and that they’re not gone forever. I think some of the advice on here is not nice at all! Remember he is only 10 months old – not 2!

  • Wow that is normal to me! good luck hun!

  • Oh hun I feel your pain all mothers go through this and usually it will calm down all the best love.

  • Thats sounds pretty normal to me! welcome to motherhood!

  • have the tantrums stopped? :)

  • Was normal for ours and just gets worse as they start to push the boundaries. I have heard that it is a way of communicating as language has not yet developed.

  • Did the tantrums start to settle?

  • Completely normal. It’s a phase that they will come in and out of with varying degrees of intensity.

  • Reasonable normal – hope they have started to settle.

  • My 5 year old still throws tantrums.

  • Yes that is normal :/

  • Totally normal behaviour. At his age he is learning that things can be taken away. I’d suggest unless its dangerous leave him to play but if you need to take something from him do a swap and say “ya”. You want to model ideal behaviour to him

  • It is normal. I hope things are going ok for you.

  • Sounds like terrible twos but earlier!
