Hello!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to celebrate New Years Eve with a two year old ?

  • camping the grounds always have kid friendly fun, and the young ones can sleep and you can party on right near them

  • Look into what your local council is putting on for families. And then maybe have drinks with friends at home for midnight

  • Im not sure if you mean a celebration with the child or how to celebrate when you have a 2yr old.
Celebrating with the child you can do whatever you think he will find fun…bake a new years cake perhaps.
celebrate when you have a 2yr old. ….well you either get a babysitter and go out or you can have friends over and celebrate at home.

  • Have a party at your place with your closest friends, that way, the 2 year old can go to bed when they are tired, and you have your besties around for a wonderful evening. If everyone brings a plate then you dont have to do all the work. Throw in a couple cocktails and everyone’s happy.

  • A BBQ with friends in a similar situation is always a good idea. If your little one (and you) can handle it try watching 9pm / family fireworks – my son loved it last year. We let him have a bit of a longer afternoon sleep, had a quite afternoon / early evening and then went to the fireworks – we live close enough for it not to be a big trip. It was great!

  • It is over rated especially when it might just be the two of you. If you can find a few friends who have kids without a baby sitter too, you could get together for a BBQ and the kids could have a sleep over in the lounge while the parents enjoy an evening together outside with a fire, a couple of drinks and watch to countdown together on the tv.

  • We had a bbq at home with a few others and let children play games and watch movie. Most children pass out/ fall asleep by 10 pm. If you are going to a friends and still have a pram take that and pjs and blanket for them to lay and sleep in

  • Depending on where you live, a lot of places have family NYE parties in a park or central location, with music and kids’ activities, and usually fireworks at 9pm so younger kids can get home to bed! One thing we’ve done sometimes though, which the kids love, is have our own little party at home, with sparklers and glow sticks and special food etc, wehre we have a big noisy “happy new year” at whatever time seems appropriate before the kids get too tired.

Hope you have a happy new year and find something nice to do to celebrate!
