Hello!

I have been doing some research on the ‘no-poo’ method since seeing some other mums mention it at MoM. I would love to hear from other mums who have tried it, and if they think it is great/not so great, and why. And also how they do it – what they use & when. What does everyone know about the “no-poo” method?

  • I have never heard of this before.

  • By washing hair with a gentle alternative to shampoo, such as baking soda and apple cider vinegar or even just water only, you’ll achieve clean hair without the damage or dependency on daily shampooing. The No-Poo method relies on the theory that using more gentle, natural cleaning agents or even just rinsing with water helps your hair maintain healthy oils. … In response to dryness, No-Poo practitioners say your scalp increases sebum (oil) production, which makes your hair look greasy.
I think there’s a lot of truth in this theory and that people in general wash their hair far too often. Personal I have very dry hair and often just rinse it with water and incidentally with baking soda.

  • Never heard of it lets hope it was the no shampoo way

  • No poo. Reading the comments i see it might mean no shampoo why the hell not just say that? What is wrong with you that you cant type 4 extra letters?
    Seriously? ? Why??

  • lol at the comments on this question

  • This seems like a funny discussion – I must admit I clicked on it because I was like what is ‘no poo’ – I am guessing from some of the responses they are talking about no shampoo – from what I have seen and read from those going frugal / natural they say their hair is really bad for a few weeks of just washing in water but after that they have really great hair and don’t need to use a lot of their products anymore to control it.

  • NO POO? not sure either as that would not be good for you lol

  • I’m hoping you mean no ‘Shampoo’ as in the benefit of retaining the hairs natural oils…if its just ‘no poo’ then no..we all have to go!

  • I have never ever heard of this, we need to poo lol

  • Each to their own, but you use shampoo make sures its organic and gentle

  • I know that I would not use this method. While I love baking soda for cleaning I wouldn’t use it on my hair as it’s also used to strip hair dye from hair. Not using shampoo to me would be like not washing my body or cleaning my teeth – yuckies.

  • never heard of it!! im about to do some research.

  • never heard of it… googling …

  • there are some good comments here

  • Never heard of this looking it up now.
