  • Personally I always wipe the oven down after use so it doesn’t get dirty !
When there is spillage which burned on the floor of the oven, I immediately remove it. Spray it with cleaner, leave it for some minute and scrub it away in no time. Every now and then I do the racks with a scouring pad/brillo

  • Make a paste with bicarb and water and cover the oven walls with it. Leave overnight and in the morning add vinegar to a cloth and wipe down the oven walls.

  • I only did this last week – Selleys Oven Cleaner… tried the vinegar thing and it did nothing…

  • Good old fashioned elbow grease unfortunately. But I like the idea of the vinegar one too so may give that a whirl.

  • I used “Oven Power” today. Had to leave it to sit for a little bit but bugger all effort on my behalf and it didn’t have that chemical gas smell you get from standard oven cleaner.

  • Wow I wild the idea of vinegar and warm water as suggested by one mum.
For the packs in the oven I submerge then in warm water com some Napisan leave overnight and then any grimejust wires straight off.

  • I think you would want to be careful using steelwool as you may scratch into the metal surface too much. If you give it a quick wash with the end ouf your washing up water, it stops build up and doesn’t need a major clean too often — unless food spits or boils over in it.

  • I use an oven cleaner but I am mindful that some of the products available are full of nasties so always check!

  • That depends a lot on how dirty it is, whether it is gas or electric, and whether it is a self cleaning oven or not. I clean mine regularly with warm water and dishwashing liquid and that keeps things pretty well under control.

  • I use an oven cleaner but l want to try what mom90758 has suggested, sounds good!

  • I am an odourless oven cleaner girl – quick efficient and relatively painless!

  • I just use an oven cleaner but one that is environmentally good and has no horrible odour.

  • mr muscle. elbow grease. it is a bit of effort but worth the result

  • You could fill up an ovenproof dish with one cup of hot water and one cup of vinegar. Place it in the oven. Turn the oven on till the mix starts to boil. Then turn it off and leave it for one hour.
Clean the warm oven walls then like Mom165744 says.

  • Mix some bicarb soda with water and make a paste. Spread it over your oven and leave it for about half another then use a damp cloth to remove the paste. You will fin the grime just wipes off. You could also use steel wool for stubborn stains.
