Hello!

Is an overseas holiday with young kids worth the money? Just wanting to know what people thought about taking young children (3 & 5 yr olds) overseas for a holiday? Is it worth the money?

  • I think at ages 2 and 5 they’re maybe a little too young to fully appreciate an overseas holiday. They would undoubtedly have fun, but they can do that here in Oz for a fraction of the cost

  • Absolutely ! These are life experiences and memories you create :)

  • I can’t see why not,it will be fun for every-one!

  • I would maybe wait until they were a little older so they could appreciate what was happening and seeing and remember some of what they see and do

  • I hope so! We’re about to do an overseas trip with our 1 year old. I assume it’s more about you as well, they will only appreciate so much of the privilege being overseas. But they’ll still love it and I assume they’re cheaper than older kids.

  • definitely and i highly recommend thailand

  • Yes yes yes. We have travelled overseas a bit with our kids. They are now 8 and 6 and really enjoy it. Take lots of photos and they will “remember” it. My son keeps talking about when he canoed into a pirate bay when he was 18 months, because he has seen it in a photo!

  • there are some good comments here

  • wait till they are older it would be very hard work

  • Some good advice there below

  • I think it would be :)

  • Personally I am waiting until ours is a little older but you’d be the best judge. I think making scrap books of the trip is a great idea and maybe putting together a printed photo book afterwards would be a fantastic way of reminding them too.

  • You can’t go past Bali for a holiday with small children, this tropical island paradise is built for kids. Perfect for adults too.

  • What have you decided to do?

  • What did you end up deciding?
