Hello!

Recommendations for brands of dryer’s? Would love to know what types of dryers would be the best for my large family? Lasting? Strong? Durability? etc.

  • Best dryer we’ve had has been the hills hoist in the backyard. Lasts forever, lots of room and not too expensive

  • simpson. i think that you should go in and check out the energy ratings

  • There are heaps to choose from – my main suggestion would be that whatever brand you get, get a condenser dryer. That way you don’t need to put a hole in the wall or get any steam in your laundry. We have had a Bosch one for 6 years and its great.

  • I have had a Westinghouse for going on 10 years.

  • Better brand sounds great thanks :)

  • I would definitely recommend Fisher & Paykel. Had one for years and they are fantastic. Whatever you get make sure it has reverse tumble action!! I recently purchased a new cheaper one, a Haier brand. Its absolute rubbish. only spins the one way and your sheets put themself into a tiny tiny ball and you have to keep separating them!!! Worst decision ever. So yeah, go for a better brand :)

  • Thanks! Some quite good ideas, I might look at the highest star energy rating ones.

  • They are probably the most expensive thing to run so whatever you get go for the highest star (energy) rating you can afford – unfortunately they aren’t rated very high though!

  • I had a Hoover,had it for more then 12 years.

  • I do have to admit though the only way we could afford ours was to cash in points from one of our points systems. eg credit card took us years to save for.

  • I’ve got a simple Simpson and I’m quite happy with it. But once I rented a flat that had a wonderful Miele condenser dryer. I loved it!

  • I have a fisher and paykle dryer its been great. The one we have sucks the air in the back of it and dispences the air out the front of it, Since we have had this one its stopped the walls going funny when using it. and is eay to keep clean. It has so many settings depending on what you want from it.
