Hello!

I am trying to move my daughter (18 months) to a sippy cup and was wondering what other mum’s recommended. She makes a huge mess with her bottle so I am looking for something non-spill. Also, how many sippy cups do you need?

  • Tomme tippy brand are good

  • Like others have mentioned, the Heinz ones are good and will not leak if baby drops it. No sucking, no fluid escapes. I bought some different ones from a Reject shop and I can’t remember the brand. I wish I could as provided the top was screwed on properly they never leaked. You can take the top off some brands and use them as an ordinary drinking glass later. Not all are the right shape or practical to use that way. We progressed to one without handles with one that could have the lid left off. Sometimes the youngest one asked for the lid off during the transition stage. He had to have the lid on in the car.

  • Both Avent and Closer to Nature make excellent options. My son tended to chew up anything that had soft plastic on it.

  • there are some good comments here

  • heinz are good and cheap

  • I agree that the heinz ones at Coles are good

  • We love the “take and toss” supply cups

  • we went non spill to standard sippy cup and then she decided she liked the one with the straw – figures!

  • Hope you found one that she likes to use.

  • i used tommee tippy :)

  • Tommee Tippee non spill cups are fantastic!

  • Nuby brand ones seem good to me and not too $$$$.

  • You can buy regular cups that are non spill, my daughter uses one no problems and has done since she was one.

  • Started my son on a sip cup at 4 months old, look for hand coordination, that will tell you. Cheers

  • meh. mines been drinking from a sippy cup since 5 months. sure, she makes a mess from time to time, but its only water, so it’ll dry. if you are looking at buying non-spill cups, maybe try to see if there are any that later on you can just take the lid off and use as a normal cup. saves outlaying money twice.
