Hello!

What is the best way to get 2yr old to drink from a sippy cup? We have tried every sippy cup in the shops and none have worked. Starting to get over buying bottles. Suggestions would be great.

  • make a big deal of the new come and say its for boys and persistence.

  • Maybe try the ones that vine with lids and straws. Might be more fun and make 2 yo more inclined to use them

  • Get sippy cups without the non leak seal so the liquid free flows, I found my daughter more inclined to take that to start with or skip the sippy cup and go straight to a cup.

  • my almost 2 y.o just has normal cups and has for a few months now and has moved on from the sippy. try giving them the cup without the lid a few times and then a normal kid sized cup and water only to start with because it’s easier to clean

they quickly learn and will love it. some babies just don’t like sippy cups so either make the holes bigger or try no lid. maybe your bubby will just go straight onto a cup

  • my son liked cups and straws

  • My son used Philips Sippy Cup.

  • Mine went straight from a bottle to a straw type sippy cup. Easier than having to tip it up. He could just suck it straight from the straw

  • my daughter preferred a cup and straw

  • you should try the nuk brand, they have soft nipples that resemble a bottle nipple but they are broader to take the shape of the hard plastic lids from most sippy cups. They worked great for my children, they are sold at Walmart, Kmart, Khols, and Target that I know of for sure

  • My little one went straight from bottle to straw. But what I found with him was he saw other kids drinking from sippy cups, he copied and used them just fine. So maybe monkey see, monkey do?

  • There are some good tips here.

  • I had the same problem. In the end we tried a regular cup and helped him use it, or a cup and straw. He will now happily drink from just about any sippy cup.

  • try ones that have straws and always tell your little one how big they are now, using these

  • so far she will only take very small amounts out of a sippy cup which is better than what she was doing. hopefully soon she will be completely onto cups and off the bottles.

  • I just bought my toddler a Amadeus Anyway up 360 sippy cup, we’ve only used it a few times so far, might be worth a look as it has handles like a sippy cup but the top is like a drinking from a normal cup, not sure if its what you are after, good luck :)
