Hello!

My son is 2, he goes to child care 1 day a week while I work (I work a couple of nights as well) but am trying to have him and I socialise more. I have looked into playgroups, they seem to have children 3 plus. I’m looking for activities for a 2 yr in the Seaford, VIC area. Was hoping to also meet other mums. Any suggestions?

  • An old question I see, but nice to read all the comments.

  • There are playgroups for younger children, I would suggest looking more. And even if the ones you find are mostly for 3 and up, you may find there are younger siblings at home. Get out there and meet the mums, check local papers/gazettes for community info, they often have children’s activities.

  • We do a lot of socialising in playgrounds and lil play parks in shopping centres.

  • Gymbaroo classes are great. You just book in a class that has his age range.

  • there are some good comments here

  • Try the church playgroups, here in Qld they are flexible. Our son was about 2 when we started and when my daughter was born she came along with us. So there was a mix of children from babies to those getting ready for school. It was a great social morning for both the mums and children.

  • Some good advice there below.

  • I’d keep looking for playgroups. We have found a couple that have 2 year olds :) if not, try kindergym, music classes etc

  • Gymbaroos, libraries, swimming classes are all good

  • You could also try doing swimming lessons together

  • Some good suggestions there below.

  • i hope you’ve had success

  • There is a great Playgroup which runs out do the Lyrebird Community Centre in Carrum Downs – so nearby you! I am also a member of the Carrum Downs ABA Group and we meet fortnightly in very child friendly places inc Belvedere Park Comm Centre (Seaford), where they also have a Playgroup and heaps of great info on other activities and groups local to you.
    Good luck! :)

  • I do agree swimming classes and park are good

  • Music groups, and swimming lessons, pram walking groups : )
