Hello!

I’d like to know if anyone has some suggestions to stop our house smelling like dirty nappies. We have a very small waste bin and we can’t leave bags of rubbish next to it as there are animals that can get into it. Consequently we have to keep dirty nappies (that are already in nappy bags, then a big rubbish bag) in the house and half the house ends up smelling like dirty nappies! My husband has allergies so we can’t use incense, he’s normally okay with those ones you plug into the wall, but I’d like to know if there’s any other options first. Thanks!

  • I burn candles all the time, also reed diffusers are good if you get a quality one.

  • This is why we use cloth nappies – never have any smells! But you could try peppermint oil

  • Can you drop the bags of nappies into a public bin, say on your husband’s way to work?

  • Try buying scented nappy bags – if they’re sealed well, you really shouldn’t be getting a smell.

  • cotton wool balls with your favourite essential oil on them – I would go for one with anti bacterial qualities… they really work x

  • We take nappies out to the wheely bin every day.

  • Bi carb soda absorbs smells – you can sprinkle it in your bin

  • Diffuse natural oils and put nappies straight in to a wheelie bin

  • Open your windows and doors and leave open for as long as possible every day. Buy a big bin for outside, secure the lid to keep pests out, and put dirty nappies in that

  • You can’t beat Eucalyptus oil. A little in the bin on the bottom also helps. Other than that vanilla oil in a cup with Bicarb soda. The bicard soaks up the smell and the Vanilla is really nice

  • Get another garbage bin?? Surely you’ll only need the extra room while using nappies?!

  • We just purchased a munchkin nappy bin – there are other brands – sangenic etc – they have bicarb in them and seal the nappies in until you are ready to put them outside. I mop the floor/clear with vinegar which is odor neutralising and spray bosistos eucalyptus spray

  • Myer have cheap $20 electric burners that burn oils and melts they are amazing.
I like glasshouse candles as well!

  • It is actually a bio hazard to keep them inside and actually think you could get into trouble, put in wheelie bin at least once a day and scented candles help.

  • Take them straight outside!
