Hello!

My normally compliant 3 yo daughter has developed a wilful streak which is becoming a problem. She won’t listen and quite often won’t take direction. What have others done to try and overcome this? I don’t want her to lose her independence rather just be able to communicate without the clash of wills.

  • Yeah, that’s hard. Pick your battles, and try to get her to decide to do things the way you want them done (haha). Just be consistent and let her know that she’s got great ideas but sometimes mum and dad have had a bit more practice because they’ve done it before too.

  • yeah that is why they call this stage threenager lol.

  • My daughter is three next week and definitely becoming more independent and wilful. I think it’s a stage that most go through at that age. There have been some changes in our home and a baby on the way, so maybe that is contributing to it. Have you had any changes lately?
