Hello!

I’m pregnant again after my first was a C-section due to cord issues. I would love to hear some encouraging success stories!

  • Great to see so many supportive comments! I had an Emergency C with number one and then a planned for 2. I wish I’d been more open to exploring a VBAC. Good on you.

  • I think the comments are very encouraging.

  • How lovely to read these success stories !!

  • I had an emergency c section with my first due to her being breech. I have gone on to have 4 successful vbac’s! Stick to you guns if you want a vbac!

  • I had a c-section for my first baby, also because of Chord issues. I have just had my 5th baby and my fourth VBAC. I’m so thankful that my doctor told me after the caesarean that there was no medical reason for me to have any future babies by caesarean. My second baby was a difficult delivery, but even with an infection afterwards, recovery was so much easier. I didn’t have to wait six weeks to drive, I could jump in and out of bed without feeling like I was going to tear my scar and my insides would fall out. Picking up baby, getting back to exercise, all facets of life, really, were easier. After 4 Vbacs without complication, I would definitely, undoubtedly recommend trying for a vbac. Good luck!

  • I had an emergency c-section at 32 weeks with my first. When I was almost due to have my 2nd, the hospital kept telling me that I wouldn’t be able to go natural as I’d already had a c-section and the likely hood of it happening was basically zero..well I showed them. I had a very successful v-bac at full term.

  • I had a successful V-Bac after my first being an emergency caserean. I was induced to bring on labour as my waters broke but body was doing nothing itself. V-Bac went perfect and my next son 3 years later was another successful V-Bac. Makes recovery so much easier than after a caserean!

  • After an emergency c-section first time around i was adamant for a vbac. I retrieved mixed messages from other mums. “You won’t be able to be induced with a vbac”. “No obstetrician will do a vbac”. “You’ll have to go to four times the appointments for a vbac”.

After meeting with the clinic obstetrician at William Angliss Hospital i was given full support to attempt a all natural, midwife care vbac. Dangers were outlined for me but not really any more than the major surgery of a csection. The ways in which they can induce a vbac are slightly different but in the end i didn’t need much help. Had my waters broke at 38 weeks after hours of contractions & delivered number two all natural within 4 hours (with a little damage but not due to it being a vbac just due to the actual logistics of childbirth!????).

    Best of luck xx
