Hello!

Talking about infant loss/stillborn? Why do people find it hard to talk about the loss of their babies? I know everyone is different, but for me it makes me feel good that I can either relate or share my experiences with them. My first born daughter was a Stillborn.

  • So sorry to hear about your loss. My best friend has a few angel babies and she loves talking about them.

  • I don’t think it’s still births that people struggle to talk about. There are lots of issues we avoid discussing

  • Many people find it difficult to speak about death in general but it’s particularly harder when it’s the death of a baby/child. You just need to find a friend who can talk about it with you. I have to admit, I wouldn’t know what to say either. Maybe a support group for those who have experienced stillbirth might help you

  • I have lost 3 babies (miscarriages), and for me, it was really hard people telling me things like, “it happens for a reason”, “you can try again”, “what’s meant to be will be.”
They may have meant well, but it hurts. Especially when they have no idea what they are talking about or how it feels. To be honest, we just stopped telling people that I was pregnant. It was easier to keep it to ourselves and then when something went wrong, I didn’t have to have questions or BS comments from others. That was my reason for not talking about it.
As for stillborn/infant loss I can only imagine what you are going through. And would think it would be that much harder to talk about it. So sorry for your loss.

  • yes it can be hard to talk about because it is so personal and people just don’t want to re-live the emotions. Although some people can benefit from talking about it though. up to the individual as to how they want to deal with it. Sorry for your loss.. No parent should ever have to go through that.

  • Upsetting subject a sad reminder
