Anyone got any great tips for toilet training a reluctant nearly 3 year old boy?

  • putting a cheerio of petal in the bowl and getting him to have a go at ‘SINKING’ it with his wee.
    Definitely not applying any stress or pressure is certainly key and keeping in mind that they do get there eventually.

  • Use ping pong balls or really cheap cereal (fruit loops, cheerios etc) as wee targets in the toilet. Add a couple of drops of blue food colouring in the toilet. It’s supposed to turn green when wee hits it.


  • I have downloaded a rewards chart from online for toilet training, have a search online for them.

  • We used to have a jar of lollies and for each time she did a poo in the toilet she got a lollie and each time she did a wee, she got a sticker to put onto her chart and at the end of the chart/row she got a little surprise.
