Hello!

I was wanting to ask mums what they did with their little ones at their wedding? I feel my little miss (2-3) will get bored at the reception but everyone who would babysit will be there?

  • You may need to hire a babysitter. It may be helpful for you to find someone and have them spend some time in the lead up to the wedding so that your daughter feels safe with the person who will be caring for her.

  • There will be heaps of people at the reception, possibly other kids, I seriously doubt she will get bored

  • Yep, would definitely take her along. I would make a roster for 20-30 minutes pp to look after your little ones and organize a kids table and plan kids activities indeed. At my parents 50st anniversary, we had some activities set up outside as well, with bouncy castles and so on, which was a big hit.

  • Your parents or in laws will be at the wedding won’t they? They’ll help out keeping her entertained won’t they? Not to mention just about everyone else there!. I’ve recently been to a wedding where the bride and groom had their 3 small children (8 months, 13 months and 5 yo) they were always kept busy by one guest or another. When it got late, nan took them home

  • most of the ones I have been to they have been taken care of at the wedding by the immediate relatives, part of the joy of a wedding would be the kids being involved and in the pictures of the special day.

  • We hired a babysitter and had a special playroom set up. Miss 2 was at the ceremony and then she had a big nap in the middle of our lunchtime wedding to emerge at the end for the goodbyes.

  • MY SONS WEDDING WITH LOTS OF KIDS WAS GREAT, THEY HAD MUSIC AND DANCE FLOOR,KIDS TOOK IT OVER AND WAS GREAT. AGES WERE TWO TO ABOUT 10.ALL HAD FUN,SO AS FRIEND WILL BE THERE THEY WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO DANCE WITH KIDS TOO,GREAT ICE BREAKER TREND.. WAS AN INFORMAL WEDDING BUT FANTASTICV

  • Set up a “kids” table with colouring and fun stuff and you will find people will gravitate to her

  • I’d include her if there’s any possible way that you can. Maybe have a portable cot in a corner, in case she gets tired, and organize a roster for different people who don’t mind keeping an eye on her for a half hour at a time.

  • what did you end up doing

  • there are some good comments here

  • Just ensure you have all her favourite things – a small pillow and rug, a comfy stroller, favourite teddy etc etc and lot’s of family members who will be happy to ‘share her around’. Works much better than you might think.

  • If you have had your wedding, how did she go?

  • my mum recently got married and i have an almost 2 year old and there were 10 other kids there too! mum had bubbles, kids packs with squishy gecko and pictures an non toxic crayons. also for kids they had popper drinks an ice creams! every toddler and child was very happy not one played up. also they had helium balloons !

  • In think you’ll e amazed at juaa how much fun she’ll have!
