Honey and lemon drinks. My daughter loved honey in a hot milo, honey is meant to sooth the throat. Vicks on the back, chest and feet at bedtime to help breathing. I also use a vaporiser with eucalyptus oil during the night too.
Go to the chemist look for a great brand you trust and buy a Vitamin C with Zinc or Olive Leaf Extract is an easy to swallow liquid suitable for both adults and children. I have added a tablespoon of this to the family meal like spaghetti and the family don’t even know they have just had it. It tastes like olive oil. We traditionally use this for relief of coughs, colds, flu, sore throats and to help reduce fevers. It’s brilliant!
I try putting garlic in whatever I can ,not too much ,also I like to use eucalyptus oil on tissues inside pillow corner ,We don’t have too many colds .
The best method to get rid of cold and cough is a cup of tea with black pepper, tulsi and salt. It definitely works and take steam of vicks for running nose.
I give my kids a warm lemon drink (fresh lemon, lemon cordial) whatever you have before they go out the door in winter. This warm lemon drink makes any mucus that is in their chest & dissolve not sitting in their making them sick. Both my kids have not had one cold this year…we went from all having pneumonia 2 years ago. It really works & is so beneficial for them…stops the snuffles & runny noses they get of a morning!
Plenty of rest, encourage good hand washing techniques to stop the spread, particularly after coughing and using tissues, top up the vitamin C with fresh lemonade, and orange juice, a spoon of honey to soothe the throat.
