Hello!

I am looking at holding a trivia night for my son’s school and was after some tips and things to do so we can get a good sum to fix the school grounds and get more things for the special education children. All of your ideas will help! Thanks!

  • Contact local businesses and see if they would like to donate goods or vouchers. Trivia nights are so much fun

  • Always go with a theme and lots of small prizes – keeps everyone super happy.

  • I would have a raffle that’s drawn on the night, sell lots of ticket. Sell tickets at the door for a lucky door prize. Have a prize wheel where you sell numbered tickets, draw balls out of a barrel/bowl, whoever has the matching number goes up and picks a prize. It’ll help if people donate the prizes, they don’t need to be expensive, just fun

  • Kinda depends on the age of your crowd. You could have all sorts of fun with this tho. Maybe gave a themed trivia night? Mind boggling options here. Sport, 80s music, AFL, country based, animals etc etc etc

  • these are all great ideas for school fundraisers

  • Lo of finger food!!

  • How did the trivia night go? What did you end up doing?

  • Raffle tickets are always a winner, lots of people can’t resist them

  • ask for the entry fee as well as donations at the door, get people to donate the prize and have a raffle that the prize has been donated also

  • have lucky seat prizes and also hold a raffle while it is one, provide a light supper for a small cost also. Offer simple coffee and cake

  • Silent auction, heads and tails, closest coin rolled to the bottle of baileys, buy and answer and definitely make sure you get everyone to put their phones on the table on silent! It’s not fair to cheat!

  • this article has helped me out as well :D thanks

  • Great event to hold. throwing gold coins at Bottle of Port etc. Have a great raffle prize, and sell tickets leading up to event. Try to get as many donations as possible, not costing you anything. Freebies can even be products for the supper, tea , coffee etc.Mystery question and each table pays for guess. If tables need a hint they need to pay for answer.

  • you can always run a silent auction that starts before the trivia questions

  • Okay, there’s always the know it all at every trivia night. Set the ground rules with “my decision is final and all arguments will be met with $1 fine” If you make it fun you can earn a fair bit from little things like this. Also, try and get businesses to donate prizes and auction them off between rounds. Have fun!
