Hello!

From early on at six weeks my baby had dribbled and cried like she was in pain. Each time people would comment saying she was teething? What are your thoughts on teething? When did your babies start teething?

  • Teething refers to the process of new teeth rising or erupting through the gums, this can be quite a long process ! Teething can begin in infants as young as 2 months of age, even though the first tooth usually does not appear until about 6 months of age. Some dentists have noted a family pattern of “early,” “average,” or “late” teethers.
In fact, although rare, babies can actually be born with teeth! It’s not unusual for teething symptoms to begin at 3 months old. And when it starts, you’ll likely observe the same side effects: excessive drooling, chewing or gnawing on fists or toys, crankiness and lack of sleep (as if that’s not already an issue!).
I can’t exactly remember when my first 3 had their first tooth, but I know it was before their first year. My youngest had her first tooth at 13 months. They all have their own pace.

  • All four of my kids had their teeth come out at different ages. First 2 kids had first teeth around 9-10 months and third child had his around 6 months and still waiting for our 8 month old son first one. His been dribbling since around 2 months and still nothing. it’s funny how everyone always jumps on the teething train if bubs is dribbling or putting hands in mouth but sometimes some babies just start dribbling more or discover their hands.

  • I got the same comments for my daughters always roses red cheeks! My kids didn’t start cutting teeth til 6-7 months of age. Believe me, you’ll know when it’s teething :/ Of course, some start earlier then others.

  • 12 and 10 months respectively.

  • I thought my baby was teething from 2 months but didn’t get teeth untill 5 months. I reckon the teeth do move from even if they haven’t cut through yet so highly likely your bub is moving teeth.

  • My two didn’t get their first teeth until about 12 months of age. My first had no signs or symptoms – they just appeared. But my second would always get diarrhea oddly enough, and go off her food. No sleep disturbance with either though – thank you God!!!!!

  • My first cut her teeth at 8 weeks, my son cut his about 41/2 months and my last at about 5 months.

  • My son had two teeth at four months, one of my nephews didn’t have any teeth until about eight months, and another nephew was born with four teeth. Each baby is different, but, if you are worried for any reason, see your doctor. I hope this helps you.

  • My first was about 10 months when she cut her first tooth and my second was 11 months when he cut his first one. My niece and nephew were both around 4 months when they cut their first teeth and yet didn’t just cut one at a time, they cut multiples – my poor sister! I’m fairly sure my chn said that saliva starts being produced (the same amount as adults do) by about 6 weeks but babies don’t know how to swallow it so it dribbles out instead. I do think that some babies can start teething really early on, just like some babies are born with teeth.

  • My 1st son was 4 weeks premi and had 2 teeth at 4 weeks old so he was meant to be born with teeth :-/ My 2nd son was around 8 weeks old when he cut his 1st 2 teeth. Both had all teeth including Molars by 13 months

  • Honestly….everytime a young baby cries people will either say…Oh they are teething….they are hungry….tired…etc
My eldest didnt get her first tooth until she was over a year old and believe me by then i was so sick and tired of hear people say she was teething.
My other two were around 4/5 months

  • my first got 4 yes 4 teeth at 4 months. Byt 18 months he had all of his teeth including all molars. my second waited until 5 months and at 2.5 has just finished cutting all of his teeth. They can start any time my eldest started showing signs of teething at 6-8 weeks also a little bonjela soothed his gums until they all came out if that didnt work then checked with doctor for other issues.

  • Both my daughters dribbled and cried from 6 weeks. The first one cut her teeth at 12 months, the second is just cutting hers at 16 months. People put everything down to teething. Dribbling and crying are normal baby things. Look up the Wonder Weeks if she is more unsettled than normal.

  • 1st- 9 months
    2nd – 17 months
    3rd – 13 months
