Hello!

What are some ways to get your children to enjoy teeth brushing? Some nights it’s frustrating to try and get my kids to do it, they just aren’t interested in brushing their teeth. Whinging and fighting, I would love some help!

  • A fun toothbrush helps

  • There are songs that might help – play one while they are doing it – brush your teeth by lah lah for example

  • SING HE SONG ‘THIS IS THE WAY WE BRUSH OUR TEETH BRUSH OUT TEETH ON A COLD AND FROST MORNING(NIGHT) AND IT GOES ON LEARNED IT AS A CHILD AND USED IT WITH MY KIDS,,, GOT TO BE FUN. ALSO YOU CAN DO YOUR TEETH TOO

  • You can get some electric toothbrushes that have a little musical tone when it’s time to stop brushing, and some children might look forward to brushing their teeth because of this device.

  • Start as early as you can and make it such a boring routine task they don’t really think about it. My son has no idea he even has the option to complain. He just knows people brush their teeth right before bed and its just something you do.

  • Take them to the dentist for checkups and the Dentist can cover importance of. Brushing teeth. Also when they ask for lollies, cake or biscuits say no because rhwy don’t brush there teeth and the sugar is bad for there teeth. Have children brush teeth individually to avoid arguments and ignore whinging and persist.

  • I’ve heard about tooth brushing apps too – technology to the rescue!!

  • I recently got told there are some app’s you can get on your phone that make it fun, i’m yet to look some up yet though :)

  • get an electric toothbrush and make it fun!

  • I don’t think they ever enjoy teeth brushing, it needs to be done however. Only suggestion I can make that may make it easier, in the short term, is offering them money to do it. Not very ethical and not the best for long term, but all I can think of

  • even though its a bit messy, I share the teeth cleaning with them – they do a bit, I do a bit. I also find they enjoy the electric toothbrush more than manual.

  • I tried alot of things too. We still have little tanties every now and again but much better than it used to be.
I had to make up a ‘brushing our teeth’ song and dance…lol which is tooooootally hilarious according to my daughter lol She is 3 years old. If they’re older kids, I’m not sure that would work hehe
Sorry I don’t have much helpful advice but hopefully they grow out of it soon for you x
