Hello!

Does any one else suffer from migraines? I have them constantly and no pain relief seems to help. What helps you? I feel like I am running out of options.

  • When you have serious migraines and nothing helps, I would suggest to go to the Gp, who could refer you to a specialist.
My mum suffered migraine in her fertile years and she was on Dixarit.

  • When I get a migraine, which thankfully isnt often I get a head, neck and shoulder massage. It always works for me. Good luck.

  • For serious pains I take Nurofen , always works for me . I know migraine sufferers are sensitive to a lot of foods such as chocolates etc.. so maybe check with your doctor if you are taking the right strategies to relieve them .

  • I suffer migraines at about the same time every monthly cycle. I didn’t get them ever till after having kids and going back on the pill. I take panadeine or whatever I can get that is the strongest over the counter and ride it out. Laying down makes it worse so I just keep going.

  • I usually take Panadol and then rest in a dark room.

  • Ive been to a few different doctors. First they thought it was the pill so i went off that and it was better for a week or so. Ive changed my diet and still no better. The only time ive been completely free of headaches is when i was pregnant with my last child. I was stressed as i could not keep anything down until about 25 weeks but i still didnt get one. Im going to see a new doctor this week who is apparently is really good with this kind of thing and hopefully can have some sort of an answer or a better way to treat it.
Im also on the computer or my phone a lot for work but ive tried to restrict my time on there as much as possible.

  • Have you seen a neurologist? Also, stress and some foods can contribute to migraines, as can being dehydrated… I wish you luck my Mum suffered for years

  • I’d be seeing your gp as there might be something that’s making the mirgraines!

  • I get massages all the time as it helps. Ive recently just moved so i might have more luck with a new doctor. With my old doctor i tried to get prevention medication as i had them everyday and some days i couldnt even get out of bed and would often be sick. I recieved a script for codean (not sure on spelling). They worked for a while but now they rarely do a thing.

  • Sumatriptan is $13.89 from Priceline. You need a subscription, so consult your doctor first.

  • I used too get a lot of migraine and someone recommended to see Chiro and it was the best thing I did has I found out my neck and mid-back area was stiff.Few adjustments and I now don’t get migraines anymore. If you don’t like Chiro then the next best option is ur GP

  • Best to see your GP for a migraine management plan if your current regime is not working.

  • I drink a bit of water but will have more and see if i notice a difference. How much are the tablets?

  • I take sumatriptan on the onset of a migraine. They come in 4 tablets, they are a bit pricey but cheaper at discount chemists. Take one tablet as soon as you feel a migraine coming on. It usually works, if not just try to sleep it off in a dark room with a cool fan near your face!

  • Try to drink lots of water soon as you feel one coming on.. I find i tend to get them when i am dehydrated.. And by the time i realize whats caused it, its to late. So now i drink lots of water all the time and the amount of migraines have decreased..
