Yes, we went to animal sanctuaries and animal hospitals too ! We also loved to go to cattle farms, petting zoo’s, botanical gardens, music festivals, free musea, shows on Australia Day, rain forests hiking tracks etc. Look to what’s on in your area.

It really depends on the age of your children, what they are interested in and which State you live in..The Art Gallery, Museum if you want free ones.

In SA the Whispering Wall (Barossa Reservoir). The wall and other parts nearby are securely fenced. People can stand at the marked space next to the wall, talk normally and people the other end can hear you. You can have a conversation. From memory there is a fairly big car park as it is very popular. I think there is also some tables and benches you can take your snacks and sit. On the road heading into the Whsipering Wall on the right hand side part way there is a cafe that seems to be popular. It is closed on bushfire risk days.

The Botanic Gardens idea sounds quite nice!

There’s usually an annual production for kids at our local botanical gardens. We’ll be checking it out again this year, lots of fun outside in the fresh air
