Hello!

As a mum if two little kids I am often tired and even though I eat very well I am still finding myself quite lethargic, there are so many vitamins out there I’m just wondering if anyone can recommend one that is good for tiredness so a bit of a pick me up that is not too expensive?

  • I’d probably try an iron supplement first. They’re not too expensive.

  • I would first have my bloods checked at the GP as lethargy can be a symptom of an underlying problem.

  • I would try vitamin D and get advice from a doctor definitely!

  • I would go to the GP. They can do blood tests and check whether there is a deficiency in any vitamin or mineral. That is better than guessing and just taking supplements. Also there is lots of evidence that supplements aren’t as good as a diet that uses genuine fresh, whole foods with minimum sugars/processed foods/white flours etc. These processed foods can really mess the body up and cause just the symptoms you are describing.

  • Have you considered quitting sugar? I just finished the IQS program and I have a lot more energy now compared to before.

  • yeah you should get a doc to give you an answer. try more iron in your diet and vitamin d. try to get more rest, maybe you are burning out as a busy mum. If it is not lifestyle related then for sure see your doc.

  • I have been told iron tablets for myself as I am low in iron and making me tired.

  • Have you checked that you don’t have an iron deficiency?
Vitamin D is very important indeed, and magnesium.

  • I drink hydralight and suck on hydralight icy poles. They are available at the chemist. Its an electrolight drink safe for the whole family including babies and breastfeeding mums. It’s not the typical energy drink and does not taste super sweet and make you buzz like coffee.

  • I felt the same way and when i was at the doctors he sent me for a blood test, it came back i was low on vitB6 and vit D, as i also had a cold at the time he also told me to have vit C.
Best way is to get tested so you only have what you need, the results normally come back with in a few days.
