Last weekend teenager who should know better broke house rule of being quiet when everyone else is asleep and they are getting up for early morning sport/training; reason was argument over missing shorts (that turned to grabbing and snatching and shouting with siblings) right outside sleeping parent’s room. What is appropriate consequence? (want to make it no more early morning sport forever but seeking other ideas.. it has happened before and we tried ‘no sport unless everything is prepared’ to minimise noise getting ready… and ‘no sport for a month’… but doesn’t seem to be teaching any lesson about respect for others, or being more organized, or not escalating disputes into fights.
