  • Gumption is your friend. It’s a type of cream cleanser, but it is in a solid form. You may need to use a non abrasive scourer (to avoid scratching) or a chux wipe to remove the stains. Gumption is great for stains on benches, and makes sinks sparkle again.

  • Old stains are impossible to move but new stains with jif!

  • vinegar and baking soda combination. google it

  • Gumption or Jif with a lot of scrubbing seems to work well. Do not use anything abrasive or it will scratch the stove top.

  • Have you tried Jif ? If you intend to clean it well without scratching use a cloth that is not abrasive as a good stove cleanser. Maybe someone can recommend something at Bunnings . If it has been there a while the stains will be tough to get off . Good luck .

  • What’s caused them? I find Mr Muscle kitchen cleaner works well on most kitchen stains. If they’re grease based, a cheap de greaser might do the trick

  • Do you know what the stains were caused by? Is the stove-top that has black stains on it white enamel paint? It depends how long they have been there whether or not you will be able to remove them. I got some of by wrapping the blade of an ordinary knive in a clean piece of scrap material, wetting it and rubbing it on the stains. Don’t use a”bare” knife as it will scratch into the surface and could even remove the paint back to bare metal. I suspect something has boiled over or been spilt on it and not wiped off soon enough. I find the best way is wipe it as soon as it is cool enough to use a damp/wet cloth on it (preferrably cotton) before the food/moisture dries. Then wash it properly in warm/hot washup detergent in your sink — or it is too big, in your wash trough.
